Mostly Thank You's
Sorry it’s been so long. We’ve had a pretty crazy few weeks setting up a lot of cool stuff to help this summer be as successful as possible. I don’t have a lot of time today but wanted to send out a few updates and then hopefully get into a more regular blogging routine over the next few weeks.
Let’s get to it!
I’d like to start by welcoming Catherine Rusk to the Bob’s Bike Ride team as she’s agreed to come along on the bike tour with me this summer! I’m very grateful to have a second pair of eyes with me out there and setting up tents usually goes better with two people. Thanks so much Catherine! She’s going to have a more behind the scenes role, focusing more on documenting via camera and keeping me alive. You know, the important stuff.
Some of you have probably also heard that we have a new sponsor. We are very, very excited to announce that Bob’s Bike Ride is presented by AFIG Financial Services Inc. You can check out their website at www.afig.ca. I’d like to personally thank everyone at AFIG and will do so endlessly and relentlessly as this trip would not be possible without them. You’ll be hearing more from them as time goes on. Truly wonderful people there.
We also met with Chantal Cloutier this week and talked to her about a similar trip she was a part of. I say similar because her husband Daniel, used eight wheels instead of two when he rode across Canada on a pair of rollerblades! Chantal had a lot of great tips for us, both for staying alive on the #1 and how to incorporate a fundraiser into this sort of journey without it getting in the way. Both Catherine and I mentioned that we felt much more confident about how the summer will go after meeting with Chantal. Thanks :)
This is quickly turning into a thank you blog, but I am thankful, so the rest of you will have to put up with it for a little bit longer. Thank you for your patience in the mean time haha.
Catherine and I were also guests on an up and coming podcast called A Passion Project. We had a really deep and insightful conversation about growing up with ADHD and Learning Disabilities in a world that doesn’t know a lot about them. There was some laughs too, so when the episode is released I hope you all get a chance to listen! Thanks to Carlene and Katrina for having us on and being wonderful hosts! They can be followed on Instagram under the name Apassionpodcast.
Finally I’d like to talk about an event that we have coming up! It takes place at Saikel Winnipeg at 2-920 Lorimer Blvd. Catherine and I will be leading a Saikel class on April 27th at 12:30 pm! You can come out for the class or just down to say hi. For those wanting to be a part of the class, tickets will be $25 and we should have them available on the website in the coming weeks. More details will be posted about that as they come in. Bob’s Bike Ride would like to keep with the theme and thank Saikel Winnipeg for hosting us!
I think that’s all for now. Once more I’d like to thank everyone involved in Bob’s Bike Ride. There are too many to list and I try to thank you whenever I see you in person. The ever growing group is supportive, creative and show more love than I thought possible. I could not have made it this far without any and all of your support. Finally I’d like to thank anyone that has continued reading this far and putting up with all the thank you’s. I promise they’re all genuine and hope to have more interesting things to say in the coming weeks and months. I have a couple posts prepared about what we know about ADHD and Learning Disabilities for those of you wanting to learn more and hope to start posting those next week or the week after. But one thing at a time.
If you haven’t heard it enough today..
